It feels like 1.18 Pre-Release 3 was just released to Minecraft: Java Edition players, but Mojang Studios ended this week with the release of Minecraft: Java Edition 1.18 Pre-Release 5. Release 4 is interspersed between the two. With the latest snapshot, Mojang will continue to refine the second part of the 1.18 Cave and Cliff Update before the official release on November 30, 2021.

Of course, this means that there are no major additions in this snapshot, but instead focus on fixing dozens of other errors and problems that still exist in the later stages of development. The next Minecraft content update is just around the corner, so we may see at least more pre-release snapshots, as well as new beta versions after the rather large Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Beta 1.18.10.20.
